Support for Employees
Absence from work can quickly take its toll on you and your family. We can get you back up and running.
Our In Work Support Service offers free and confidential support to help employees return to work from sickness absence. We also support employees who are still going into work, but who are struggling to perform effectively because of poor physical or emotional health.
Our support is available to employed or self-employed people who live or work in Conwy, Denbighshire, Gwynedd and Anglesey.
We offer face-to-face, confidential support to help you return to work from sickness absence, or to improve your wellbeing in work. Just call to arrange a meeting with one of our dedicated and experienced team – this will usually be face-to-face, but we can also have a discussion over the phone if you prefer. We will listen to you, and help you to develop a support plan to meet your needs. We will also be able to put you in touch with any other specialist support services that may be helpful to you. Our service is 100% confidential, we will only ever contact your employer or GP with your permission.

We offer a series of free half-day courses aimed at improving wellbeing. The courses were developed with the support of Bangor University’s School of Psychology, and provide delegates with tools and techniques to build resilience and personal effectiveness – in a relaxed and supportive setting.
The courses are designed to work together, but you don’t have to attend all of them – just come along to one to find out if they are for you. The courses are delivered in Rhyl and Bangor – check out our calendar page and contact us to book your place.
People who are resilient or have the ability to ‘bounce back’ in a positive and creative way after encountering problems, show lower levels of depression and are more like to be able to self-motivate. We will explore more ways in which we can develop and hone this key trait.

Thought-traps and how to avoid them
Negative thoughts are experienced by all of us at some time but can be more prevalent and extreme whenever we feel stressed, anxious or depressed. Learning to recognise these thought traps is the first step in overcoming them.
Coping with Anxiety
We will look at the common symptoms of anxiety, what they mean, why you struggle with them, and what are some of the ways in which you can learn to control the effects of anxiety.
A certain amount of stress can lead to optimum performance, but it can easily tip us over the edge, and is one of the leading causes of absence from work. We will find out more about the causes and effects of stress, and how to develop strategies for keeping control.

Access to therapy
For those who need more in-depth support to help them return to work from absence, we are able to offer rapid access to physical or psychological therapies through our team of qualified health practitioners. This will usually be one-to-one support, although we do also offer group programmes such as CBT or mindfulness.
