In 2009, RCS supported Community Justice Intervention Wales (CJIW) to realise an ambitious project to develop a piece of farmland on the outskirts of Rhyl. The ‘growing project’ provided a range of opportunities in relation to employment related activity and learning, principally in the field of horticulture/agriculture, but also in the connected fields of retail and marketing.. The project was instrumental in helping participants take some first important steps in maintaining people’s mental health, avoiding depression, developing healthier lifestyles and making a voluntary contribution to the community.
